Dixeha

Dihexa works by penetrating the blood brain barrier and repairing damage to synapses, or the individual neuronal connections in our brains.

Dihexa works by penetrating the blood brain barrier and repairing damage to synapses, or the individual neuronal connections in our brains. This helps patients with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases. Patients may see improvement in creative thinking skills, problem solving, conversational skills, depression and memory.

Dihexa, also known as N-hexanoic-Tyr-Ile-(6) aminohexanoic amide, is an oligopeptide drug derived from angiotensin IV that binds with high affinity to hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and potentiates its activity at its receptor, c-Met. In an assay of neurotrophic activity, Dihexa was found to be seven orders of magnitude more potent than brain-derived neurotrophic factor. An orally active, blood– brain barrier permeable compound was subsequently developed with the potential to treat Alzheimer’s disease and other disorders that would benefit from augmented synaptic connectivity.
